in the Fall of 2008.

The H.S. of American Studies Girls/Boys XC Team finished its 2nd season
in the Fall of 2006.
The H.S. of American Studies Girls/Boys XC Team finished its 1st season
in the Fall of 2005.
Achievements:
Our
Varsity Men placed 2nd in the Bronx in 2007 among all Bronx High Schools
of all sizes. Their placement allowed for a City Champion berth where they
scored 14th out of over 50 schools citywide. The JV men also placed 2nd in the
Bronx despite the torrential humidity that day.
Our
Frosh Men in the autumn x-country season of 2007 placed 1st in the Bronx
among all Bronx High Schools fielding a Frosh team. Our Soph Men and Women and
our Frosh Ladies placed 2nd in the Bronx among all Bronx High Schools fielding a
Soph team, initiating a new silver tradition.
Hiroshi
Nobuoka
led our Cross Country Team on the competitive Van Cortlandt course.
Hiroshi captured the title of Bronx Borough Champion 2007 continuing our
tradition of bringing home the individual champion award.
Alana
Menendez took the Frosh Bronx individual title in her first year with the
American Studies program. Alana and her older brother Mark both placed 2nd in
the Bronx at the Borough Champion meet in 2007.
Our Sophomore Men in the autumn x-country season of 2006 placed 1st in the Bronx among all Bronx High Schools. The defeat of the Bronx High School of Science was hard fought and we will hope to repeat. Our Sophomore women placed 3rd in the Bronx continuing our Bronze tradition.
Our
Lady Senators qualified for the City Championship Team Race in 2006
placing us among the elite in New York City. Hopefully this will be the first of
many invites to the City Championship Team Race.
Team
Captain Paul Fiore led our Cross Country Team on to the course in our inaugural
year of 2005. Paul's school record setting time of 17:25 in the 5K may
stand for years. Also Paul captured the titles of Bronx Borough Champion 2005
& Individual City Champion of 2005.
Sophomore
Men & Women in the autumn of 2005 placed 3rd in the Bronx among
all Bronx High Schools. This was no small feat for our inaugural year as a team.
